On behalf of the Chess Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and myself I would like to welcome all participants, guests and chess lovers who gathered these first days of spring in our young capital at the Women’s World Team Chess Championship!
It is the third time when Kazakhstan organizes together with FIDE the tournament of such level with the participation of the world strongest women team.
Chess is a unique, elegant and at the same time mass type of sports, which connects millions of chess players all over the world, more than 500 million people regularly follow the results of all tournaments.
The women teams from Kazakhstan, Turkey, China, Russia, Ukraine, India, Rumania, France, USA and Georgia will compete for the title of the best women’s team in the world.
I would like to express my gratitude to the organizers of this chess event- to the Chess Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Fide World Chess Federation and personally to its president Kirsan Ilyumzhinov.
I wish our participants an interesting and fair competition, and I hope the spectators of the championship will enjoy beautiful combinations and unexpected moves!

IV FIDE Women’s World Team Championship will be held in the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan Astana from 2 till 12 March 2013. We would like to draw your attention to the fact that this tournament to be organized for the first time in the history of Kazakhstan chess! The best teams, winners of World Chess Olympiad and the world team champion- Chinese team will be among 10 participants of the World Championship. The right to participate won the national teams of Russia, China, Georgia, Ukraine, USA, India, Romania, France, Turkey and Kazakhstan. The teams’ composition is very strong, the best chess players of the world are there- world champion Anna Ushenina (Ukraine), world ex-champion Alexandra Kosteniuk (Russia), Nana Dzagnidze (Georgia), Irina Krush (USA) and other famous grandmasters. Kazakhstan chess players will have a pleasant surprise: Kazakhstan team will participate in the championship for the first time in the history of the championship. Sport honour of our motherland is entrusted to vindicate to Gulishkan Nakhbayeva, Dinara Saduakassova, Madina Davletbayeva, Gulmira Dauletova and Zhansaya Abdumalik. It is symbolic that during the championship the capital of Kazakhstan will celebrate the International Women’s Day 8th of March. Chess guests of Astana apart from taking part in serious intellectual competition can participate in different festive events, appraise hospitality of Kazakh people, get to know super modern megalopolis- a new capital of independent Kazakhstan.
